Born in 1976 in Mexico, Celso García has written and directed five short films. Pata de Gallo (2004), his fourth short, was one of the winning entries at the third Imcine National Short-Film Project Festival and was shown at fourteen international film festivals. In 2004, Celso was selected as one of the recipients of a Fonca Grant for Young Creators. La Leche y el Agua (2006), his fifth short, was one of the winning entries at the fifth Imcine National Short-Film Project Festival. This work was also the winner of the National Screenplay Award, sponsored by
the National Association of Mexican Writers (SOGEM). La Leche y el Agua was shown in forty-six film festivals and won twenty-six international awards, among which the Guadalajara International Film Festival’s Mayahuel and the Best Short Film award at the Huelva International Film Festival. Currently, Celso García is preparing his first feature-length film: La Delgada Línea Amarilla (The Thin Yellow Line).
